As a charity we need all of the help that we can get. In addition to monetary donations we also need the following;
  • Volunteers to organize fund raising events
  • Collecting tin distributors
  • Helpers on fund raising days
  • Good ideas for fundraising

Volunteer fundraiser (UK Nationally)

What does this role do?
The role is to develop a local strategy to raise funds for The Children’s Air Ambulance and recruit additional volunteers to maximize all fund raising opportunities in your area.

What sort of things will I need to do?

  • Make contact with local people and companies and ask them to help you develop various events to raise funds for the charity
  • Contact people who have been involved in other one off fundraising events and ask them to commit to The Children’s Air Ambulance.
  • Recruit additional supporters in your area.
  • Arrange for the placement of collecting tins and people to collect / replace them as required
  • Possibly accept cheque presentations on behalf of the charity.
  • Act as one of The Children’s Air Ambulance representatives for your area
  • Set up opportunities for local collections at venues such as supermarkets, retail outlets and shopping malls etc..
  • Attend and help with fund raising at the above venues

Do I need any special skills?
The only skills you will need is a friendly approach and the ability to converse with people.

How much time will this all take?

That is up to you. We would obviously appreciate your help as often as you can offer however just a few hours per week can make a big difference.


Will I be given any help?
Yes. You will be given relevant training from a full time member of staff in our local office. They will provide you with all of the training and paperwork that you will need. We will always be available at the end of a telephone should you need us and we will be happy to come along to any meeting or presentation that you feel nervous about in the early days.

Will I work from an office?
The Children’s Air Ambulance is a new and exciting charity, at present we are still developing our network of offices and therefore some of you may need to work from home initially, however it is hoped that each region will have an office shortly. The majority of your work will involve you being out and about representing The Children’s Air Ambulance in your local community.

Event Organisers (UK Nationally)

What will I be doing?
Support local staff in setting up and running events in areas close to you.

Your role will include the following:

  • Raising the profile and promoting the event in the local area.
  • Organising the event with the venue owners and other local helpers.
  • Contacting local companies, groups and schools and trying to get them involved.
  • Recruiting volunteers to help on the day.

What skills will I need?
A friendly and outgoing personality with a "can do" approach to life. Commitment to see each event through to the end, Good communication skills and the ability to influence others.
Practical skills and the willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. The ability to work as part of a team is essential. The ability to converse with groups of people etc about the event.

How much time must I commit?

The more time you can give the better. Obviously as each event gets closer we will need as much help as we can get. We would hope that as each event is arranged you could provide sufficient time to meet with the other volunteers to ensure the success of the event.

Will I get any help?
Yes, A member of our permanent staff will be on hand to support you and offer advice and training as required. You will be given lots of help on the day and we will always be at the end of a telephone to deal with any areas that you are uncertain about.

Local Event Promoters (UK Nationally)

What does the job involve?
We are looking for people to undertake the task of promoting events relevant to their local area. Your job would be to let as many people know about the forth coming event by perhaps placing posters in the local shops or maybe conducting interviews on the local radio / TV. You may also help by putting leaflets through every door in a specified area.

Do I need any special skills?
The only skill you will need is the ability to communicate easily with others and a confident approach.


How much time do I need to commit?
This is entirely up to you.The more time you can give the better the chance of the event being a huge success and the charity raising lots of money.


Will I be given any support?
We will provide training and support from a full time member of staff. They will be in constant contact with you and provide you with any help or assistance that you require. As with all of our volunteers you will always be able to reach us at the end of a telephone to answer any questions that you may have or to provide you with additional support at any time.

Special Event Organiser (UK Nationally)

What does the job involve?
Throughout the year The Children's Air Ambulance will be organizing special events across the country. We need individuals who would like to Organise an event in their area from the initial concept through to the actual event taking part.

What will this involve?
Obtaining local sponsorship, marketing the event to companies and individuals, possible ticket sales (if appropriate), recruiting competitors (if appropriate) and all other activities that will be required to ensure a successful and profitable event.

Do I need any special skills?
This job would suit the following sort of person;
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
The ability to influence people, in particular decision makers. Good networking skills
PC literate.
A "can do" attitude and able to "think outside of the box".
A drive for success.

How much time do I need to commit?
We would hope that you could offer at least 5 hours per month.

Will I be given support?
You will be provided with full training and support from a full time member of staff. Other volunteers in your area will work closely with you to ensure the events are a huge success and we will always be available at the end of the telephone at all times to offer advice and assistance as required.
